Routine maintenance becomes a treasure hunt

Had a good laugh (and a small headache) today doing what should've been the simplest thing ever...routine maintenance on my 2019 Chevy Equinox, I went in planning to change the cabin air filter and knock out a couple other quick checks, you'd think that'd be a 10 minute job, right? wrong, ten minutes turned into me halfway upside down in the passenger footwell, trying not to break a clip that looks like it was designed by a sadist.
And of course, once I had everything open, I found a mystery bolt, a pen cap, and what I think was part of an old receipt melted to the blower housing, who designs some of these access points, I get that space is tight, but I've changed filters on motorcycles with more breathing room
Anyway, got it all cleaned up, filter replaced, and checked my oil, which somehow looked way too clean for being 2,000 miles in, either that or I'm going colorblind, haha

Fab, over and out!

You know how GM can get with their cramped designs? Those clips are pretty brutal. And that random debris in the blower housing? Yeah, it's actually more common than you'd think. By the way, nice job catching that clean oil. It could mean you're due for a longer interval or maybe just haven't been using it much

I guess finding random junk is just part of the Equinox ownership experience at this point! Welcome to the club LOL And yeah, modern synthetic oils can stay stay surprisingly clean for a long time! It can be a little unnerving, but it's totally normal!
