when I am getting fuel in my 2005 Chevrolet equinox the pump keeps shutting off every quarter or so. Takes a bit of time to get filled up. It inst the gas pump because I have tried several different stations and it does it all all of them so its definitely my vehicle unfortunately. What could this issue be?

That's almost always a problem with the EVAP system, specifically the charcoal canister or the vent valve getting clogged. What happens is the air can't escape the tank fast enough as you're pumping gas in, so the pressure builds up and triggers the pump's automatic shutoff.

I'd start by looking at the EVAP vent solenoid valve and check if it's stuck or plugged up with dirt and dust, especially if you drive on a lot of gravel roads. A lot of times you can just replace that part yourself, it's pretty straightforward.
