Samsung S4+ Bluetooth Problem!

hey! snagged with new equinox rs last week, it was a decent ride for 33k and im an android user for google tech. but, my samsung s4+ bluetooth is a mess. it connects and disconnects nonstop! once the car starts, it kills all google class and i cant even turn bluetooth off without the car flipping it back on. only happens with my phone and not other phones even same gen samsung smartphones nada! phone's fine with my Nissan '23. anyone having problem like mine? is there a chevy engineer here? dealer's useless! just resets it and still shrugs.

is your phones software up to date? it could be a security issue within the firmware of your phone. And this is rather a question for samsung than chevy.

@f0xtrott70's point about the firmware is a solid start but it's also worth digging into whether the Equinox RS's infotainment system got any compatibility quirks with certain devices. maybe something about its software doesn't vibe well with older Samsung models even if they're updated or it could even be a clash between bluetooth profiles like A2DP versus HFP. you mentioned your Nissan '23 works fine with it. did you pair that under similar conditions using the same apps? if so, maybe the Equinox setup is throttling connection requests if multiple apps are vying for control. also, did the dealer check for TSBs or updates on the car?

but this sounds like a phone issue to me. have u tried updating your phone's software if you havent yet? also have u tried a different phone and see if the issue is still happening?

Wow huge congrats on the RS That kind of problem is easily solvable with software upgrades so no worries on that.

Congrats on the new Equinox! The Bluetooth issue with your Samsung S4+ might be related to Android Auto or a pairing conflict. Try resetting your network settings by going to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. Clearing the Android Auto cache in Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Storage could help too. Forget the car on your phone and vice versa, then restart both devices and pair them again. Lastly, make sure both your phone and the car's system are up to date with the latest software

I'm not a smartphone wizz, but Samsung s4 is over a decade old and in addition to that there wasn't a plus model, so is this a typo or are you really using a phone that's almost old enough to vote?
