wife and i decided to buy the '25 equinox LT and we noticed the headlights turns on randomly and doesnt turn off. same thing happens to our friend's colorado and he says that it happens if the system or software updates though we find it odd that it doesnt turn off automatically after so i came here to confirm this. Thank you.

yo, same thing happened to my '24 Equinox. it's def a software glitch. try a hard reset or check for updates. if that doesn't work, might need to hit up the dealer. annoying af, i know.

@mrtuxedo90 : this issue with headlights going rogue on the equinox is like the car trying to give itself an unplanned spotlight moment, but honestly a software glitch sounds believable especially since your friend's colorado seems to share the same talent. have you both tried pulling the old "turn it off and on again" or resetting the system like @RespawnOracle88 suggested because sometimes even cars just need a reboot to snap out of it? if that doesn't work maybe it's time for the dealer to play tech support detective.

Sounds iike a common issue and a software glitch. were you able to reset as advised above?

I'm sure there's a malfunction there, but I wouldn't want to be stressed out if I were you. just take the car back to the dealer, you bought a new one and still got a long warranty right
