Got a P050D

Got hit with a P050D code on my equinox two days ago and figured I'd throw it out here in case anyone else has been through it. From what I was able to gather, it's tied to cold start rough idle, fueling issue during warm up. opinions I'm getting between the system being picky or toward dirty injectors or a bad MAF.
Who has chased this one down and found a reliable fix? I'm not trying to throw parts at it blindly if I can avoid it.

Yeah, P050D usually means a rough idle when it's cold. It could be due to dirty injectors, an issue with the MAF, or a small vacuum leak.

Have you cleaned the MAF yet? Noticed any strange smells or odd fuel trim numbers when you scanned it?

Definitely check the MAF too, bad readings during warm up can mean the fuel trims get thrown way off. A quick MAF clean with proper cleaner can't hurt and it costs next to nothing.
start with the cheap stuff: clean the MAF, inspect for vacuum leaks, then move on to injectors if it's still stumbling

Agree with them. Better check the MAF asap. If we can rule that out, then it's gonna be simpler from there. But if it's the problem, why the long wait to diagnose it properly?

Fuel Injectors are probably the most common culprit for P050D on GM direct injection engines like those in the Equinox.
so, over time, these injectors can get clogged with carbon or develop internal issues, leading to an imbalance in fuel delivery, especially during the crucial cold start period when the engine needs precise fueling. The PCM detects these variations in crankshaft rotation speed and sets the P050D.

replacing the faulty injectors is one way to fix it. or you can replace all of them on that bank or even both banks, as others might be on their way out. This often comes with a reseal kit for the other injectors.

A good scan tool can help you to show misfire counters for individual cylinders or injector balance rates, which can pinpoint a weak injector. Some pros use a borescope to look for carbon buildup on valves or signs of a "steam-cleaned" piston top, which can indicate an injector not atomizing fuel correctly or even a minor coolant leak
