2024 Equinox RS oil filter

Hurray. I just hit 1,000 miles on my 2024 Equinox RS and now I am planning to do the first oil change myself. I've seen videos where older models had the oil filter accessible from the top, but I'm not sure if that's still the case with this trim. Does anyone here know exactly where the filter is located on the 1.5L turbo? I just don't want to crawl underneath if I don't have to. Let me know. Thanks.

For your Equinox model, the oil filter is a spin-on type and mounted underneath the engine, open side up. So yep, you'll likely need to get under the vehicle.

Congrats on the 1,000 miles!, in 2024 RS, the oil filter is still underneath, not up top like the older setups, so you'll need to get under the car to reach it, just behind the splash shield near the drain plug, its not the most fun, but pretty straightforward once you're under there

congrats, hope you have a lot more care-free miles! as for the service, what would it mean for your warranty? isn't chevy going to void it?
