Every modernish car i owned in the past had the start stop bullshit i've been disabling so the equinox will see the same treatment. Apart from disabling it throuhg the car which is a pain as we need to do it every time we start it is there a way to disable it permanently?

ok it's kinda a nice thing to see that there are others annoyed with the equinox too i thought i was just being petty :-) anyway i'm not sure if there's a permanent way but can't u just use the button every time? or like if it annoys u too much i cam eacross aftermarket autostop eliminators on amazon. u can plug it and tinker or something and its gonna keep ur autostop off permanently or until u tinker again. hope this helps! 💪🏻

Agree with this, @scofield1. You can always try the eliminators from aftermarket sites... but then again, an easy fix could be unplugging the sensor. Do this only if you're comfortable and confident with it because you don't wanna risk doing a permanent damage just because you want a permanent solution to something so... bearable.

Either the eliminator device or ECU tunning which is far more expensive and can void warranty but it's permanent.

I tried my luck with the dealer and asked them to turn this thing off, they said they can't do it. I asked about the eliminator and the warranty and they said it voids it, but every product page i read said that it doesn't void it, so I'm confsed

Nah dude, you can't disable it permanently. Been part of my life for decades, no other way but to get used to it.

Same here! I turn it off on all my stuff. The easeist way I found is to use a plug-in start/stop eliminator module by the hood latch. It doesn't throw any codes, keeps the remote start working, and you can take it out whenevre you want. Totally worth it
